We at Mile Zero Tours gratefully acknowledge that our operations are based on the traditional
territories of the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations. We recognize and honour their enduring presence and
stewardship of these lands we call home.
As we journey across British Columbia and Canada, we are honoured to work with and visit the
traditional lands of many Indigenous nations. From the Haida Nation of Haida Gwaii to the Mi'kmaq Nation of
Atlantic Canada and Inuvialuit Peoples of the arctic, each with their own distinct culture and heritage. They
represent just a few of the many diverse Indigenous nations that have shaped Canada's rich tapestry of cultures
and traditions.
We also recognize the Indigenous peoples around the world, including the Māori of Aotearoa (New
Zealand), whose traditions and customs are integral to the identity of the land. They serve as an example of the
resilience and strength of Indigenous cultures worldwide.
As a tour operator, we recognize the invaluable knowledge, culture, and traditions that these
communities possess. We are committed to learning from them, respecting their heritage, and endeavoring to
assist in the preservation and sharing of their cultural richness. It is our honour to collaborate with
Indigenous peoples, fostering mutual understanding and appreciation, as we strive to create meaningful
experiences that celebrate and uplift their unique perspectives and contributions.
